New York Math Circle Privacy Policy
We take the privacy of our participants very seriously; therefore, we only collect the information necessary to provide our services efficiently.
Registration
In order to register you for our courses or programs, we collect your name, contact information, and other data that helps us understand your mathematical background. This data is only shared with New York Math Circle staff, with limited exceptions as described in the Service Providers section below.
All children registering for our courses or programs must fill out and submit the registration form together with their parent or legal guardian.
We take reasonable steps to protect your name and other information from anyone who is not authorized to have such information. All access to our website, including registration, is handled through a secure SSL connection.
Payments
When you pay for our courses or programs using our online payment system, or make a donation using a credit card, we collect your name, email address, and credit card information. This is used to process your payment, to send you a confirmation, and to contact you if there is an issue with your payment. We will share this information with Stripe, our credit card payment processor. Credit card information specifically is not transmitted to NYMC, or stored in our database. Instead, this information is processed and retained by Stripe for the purpose of processing transactions, refunds, and/or chargebacks. Email List
We maintain an email list for announcements and updates relevant to New York Math Circle. We do not share this email list with anyone. You may adjust interest preferences or unsubscribe from these emails at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions included in every email sent to this list.
We also use email to communicate with registered participants of our courses and programs. These email messages regard the program you are registered for, and you may not unsubscribe from them until your participation ends.
Service Providers
We use several service providers to perform certain services on our behalf. These services include hosting our website functionality and database, processing credit card payments, maintaining our email list, and providing organizational and communication tools to NYMC staff. These service providers may have access to personal information needed to perform their functions, but are not permitted to share or use such information for any other purposes.
